Pangasinan 2015 - Day 1

By Seyra Rico - 6:21 AM

I remember reading, "We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”

And so, I do. Travel is one of the best things in life, and even if travel is an inherently bourgeois activity, it's still worth engaging in. It's the biggest contradiction in my ongoing proletarian reformation, honestly. So, last month, I went on another field trip for my resort management class, in Pangasinan!

(I will attempt to be as informative as possible for this post.)

We left Diliman at 1am and arrived at Alaminos, Pangasinan at about 6am. I slept the whole trip and woke up 5 minutes before we arrived, so I think my attempt at providing useful details for the trip failed right here. Since there were 27 of us, we got a boat that will take us to any island we want to in half a day. We payed PhP 200 each. It was more than worth it! The Hundred Islands was my favorite part of the trip. I was surprised that such beauty can exist like that 4 to 5 hours outside Manila. The water was like Palawan. It was breathtaking. I know not all islands can be visited, some are rock outcroppings, I just wished we visited all the islands that we can dock in.

We stayed at Puerto del Sol, which is one of the best resorts I've been in. More on that on my next posts!

Even better at night!
