Baler 2015 - Day 1

By Seyra Rico - 8:57 AM

Last June, two days before the weekend, my sister invited me to Baler, Aurora. And of course, I said yes. So we arrived in Aurora in the break of dawn. We were being spontaneous weekend warriors.

We first went to the 600 year old balete tree. I was still sleepy so I couldn't take any decent photo. Sorry! We went to Museo de Baler then Aurora's Mansion, Manuel Quezon's wife memorial place. We then went to Baler Church, Ermita Hill The Historic Statue, and Digisit Falls then Lukso Islet. Lastly, we went to Dimatubo Waterfalls, which is a 20 minute climb up. The place was packed, even though it was supposedly lean season. But you have to be careful, because some rocks were slippery.

Too much orange. I can't

Don't worry if you get thirsty, there are food stalls on the way up!
Warning: water's a bit ice cold

I was a bit sad during the entire weekend because I kept remembering something I should not anymore. But traveling provides a nice distraction for my woes and Baler is so beautiful that you can forget your problems. I am thankful for my sister for watching out for me.

How about you? Where will you go to spend your weekend?
